What Is the Morse Code Translator?

Note: This translator converts English text to International Morse code, not American Morse code. You can check the Morse code chart PDF we created, which shows how each character is represented.

How to Learn Morse Code
Ever since Samuel Morse and his assistant Alfred Vail developed Morse code, learning it has often seemed difficult. Although Morse code is primarily known for its use in military and emergency communications, it was the first widely used method of transmitting messages as electrical signals over telegraph lines. Nowadays, many people learn Morse code simply for fun or to send a secret message to their friends.
You can use our practice Morse code page to study each Morse character in the alphabet. Then, like learning any other language, listening to Morse code signals (you can download audio files from here) can be very helpful.
And, of course, if learning Morse code isn't for you, you can always use our Morse translator to translate English into dots and dashes.
